Speech recognition software

Speech recognition this thing we see in the movies, is now widely used in business and at home by millions of people each day. Until recently one company had pretty much cornered the whole market, and was doing a very good job software could be bought for as little as $99.00

If you know nothing about speech recognition software the company doing all the work is Nuance, they have a product called Dragon NaturallySpeaking and untill recently I was using this software on my older computer, after a recent purchase and an upgrade to windows vista I found that my beloved software would not work with vista, a quick search on google quickly revealed that a patch was available, minor problem though the download was a gig in size and would take a very long time about five or 6 hours with DSL.

To my surprise while searching for other options I came across an article mentioning Vista had its own speech recognition software built in free of charge.. It only took a few minutes to set up and I was quickly able to dictate in the normal way i would with Nuances products.
